How Long Does Microblading Last?

Generally speaking, microblading lasts anywhere from 18-24 months. However, it may need to be touched up every 6-18 months. How long the ink lasts depends on the following factors:

Aftercare: One of the top factors affecting how long microblading lasts is the aftercare. After the procedure, clients are given a list of aftercare instructions. These instructions may vary, depending on the products and equipment used. Either way, in order to get the best results, clients must follow these instructions strictly.

Skin Type: Also, oily skin does not retain pigment as well as other types of skin. So, those who have oily skin may need a touch-up faster than those who do not.

Sun Exposure: Those who get microblading procedures should avoid direct sunlight as much as possible. This is especially true in the first two weeks after the procedure.

Hydration Levels: Well-hydrated skin tends to heal and retain ink better.

Smoking: Smokers may experience delayed healing as it tends to prevent the skin from healing correctly.

Exfoliation: Although exfoliation is excellent for the skin, aggressive methods of exfoliation, such as chemical peels, can compromise the quality of the ink.
